Contents of shoes, between tech and know-how

The different parts of the footwear, materials used vary. Our feet fairy explain point by point the various materials found in our shoes to become a true professional of leather and co!

Top to bottom, is first found the outsole (composition: leather in the collar, alphacellulose, cardboard, rope and synthetic materials)

Then the sole of cleanliness, so dear to RED CARPET! They may be leather, fabric, or synthetic.

The sole for wear in the form of leather, rubber, wood, plastic, rope or synthetic.

The heel to give height girls! It is present in different materials such as wood, plastic, light alloy, the synderme (i.e. leather falls related to glue and resin), leather and good-end.

Then, to finish on the stem of the shoe, it is the part that wraps the foot outside. It is made or derived leather, fabrics, crèpe, metal, plastic, rope, wood or synthetic materials.

It knows all leather, nubuck, the daim… But do we know really the difference and origin of its contents? Rattrapage… session

In the family of leathers, I call:
The noble Nubuck= bovine leather on the outer side, the (smooth) flower, sanded to a velvety soft aspect, it gives very beautiful colors but is more fragile

Nice veal velvet= leather ends and presented on the side chair (sweet), coarser than the nubuck velvety aspect

The soft buckskin= describes more leather of this animal, but a leather "soft" appearance. He shortly be veal-velvet or Nubuck

The delicate buff= has now obtained from sheep-skin is tanned with fish oil

Wild leather crust= lower part of a slice in the thickness of the leather which is that the room has two side chair (sweet) and not of flower (side smooth)

The art Box calf= leather whose surface was smoothed artificially

The natural Nappa= skin in full flower (side smooth retained) and hue in depth

In the family of "imitation" of leather, we retrouvons…

The Synderme= falls of leather amalgamated with fibres of paper, glue and resin.

The synthetic leather= non-woven fabric of synthetic fibres (polyamide or polyamide micro most of the time) clotted in a resin, polyurethane generally.

The skaï= obtained by a textile coating. The skaï is a trademark German reproducing an aspect of leather but to properties and much lower costs.

Good to know: the "real leather" logo ensures that the material used is a leather of full flower (including the outer surface of leather, the most noble part) that is to say all those presented above except the crust leather.

Calculate your size, the true!

In France, sizes of shoes are expressed without measurement unit but the numbers represented by these sizes are obtained by a rather simple calculation. Here is the magic formula to know its true size of foot and do more to err in the choice of his next shoes. Arm you your meter tape, here we go!

T - calls on the form? It is the chaussante part of your shoe that includes footwear supplement + the length of the foot, that is to say a little more of 1 cm (1/24th of the length of the foot very exactly). But why add 1 cm we tell you? Simply to ensure a minimum of comfort. Indeed, the foot advance and elongates in the shoe at the held the PAS.

The size of the foot is the sum of the length of it added to the 1/24th of this length. Yes, this is a little math for the start of the year…! You should know that size is equivalent to 2/3 of cm is 6.66 mm. Size 38 for example, it is in fact 25.3 cm.

The width of the shoe is measured at the joints at the root of the toes. The perimeter of the foot in this place is called "Tour of the fingers". The width is then expressed as a number (from 1 to 7) or in letter (A to G). Therefore, it is not strange to see that some hunters have different widths for the same model of shoe. Here is the formula to calculate your ideal width: (perimeter x 2) - size.

You have of surely pointed out that some brands they most shoe great or smaller and that the height of the heels may encourage them to change the usual size. It is normal, even if this complicates us life! Even if previous calculations are relevant, we will advise you always promote a fitting situation and test in-store the size and not minimum 15 model for having no bad surprise on day where you will wear for the first time.

Good to know: If you longing for shoes in Italy, be aware that standard Italian is a size above the French standard: the 40 Italian will correspond to the 39 French.

Here is the summary table:
